Alexander & Pelli, LLC began with the association of Greg Alexander and Stan Pelli in 1989 and has grown over the years. Laurie Gunther joined the firm in 1994, David Wice in 2002, Ken Levin in 2013 as Of Counsel, Neal Wiley in 2016, Gene Gillin in 2019 as Of Counsel, Kate Thackray in 2020, and Elizabeth Roberts as Of Counsel in 2022. David retired in 2019, and Laurie retired in 2020.

Gregory G. Alexander

Partner
Partner Gregory G. Alexander received his B.A. from Haverford College in 1960 and LL.B. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1967. Mr. Alexander was admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar in 1967 and was an associate, and later a partner, in the Estates Department at Pepper, Hamilton & Scheetz in Philadelphia between 1967 and 1978. He left Pepper, Hamilton & Scheetz in 1978 to form his own law firm. He has served on the Executive Committee and Rules and Practice Committee of the Section of Probate and Trust Law of the Philadelphia Bar Association, and as a lecturer at Pennsylvania Bar Institute seminars on estate-related topics. He is also a member of the Pennsylvania and American Bar Associations (Section on Real Property, Probate and Trust Law) and the Philadelphia Estate Planning Council. Stanley A. Pelli

Partner Stanley A. Pelli received his B.A. from Bates College in 1977 and his J.D. from Temple University School of Law in 1981, where he was a member and President of the Moot Court Board. He was admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar in 1981 and joined Hecker, Rainer & Brown in Philadelphia as an associate, where he worked in the estate planning, probate, real estate and business formation areas. He was a Florida resident from 1988 to 1989 and was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1990. In addition, he was admitted to the New Jersey Bar in 1991 and the Rhode Island Bar in 1999. He joined Gregory G. Alexander, Esquire, as an associate in 1989. Mr. Pelli has served on the Executive Committee of the Probate and Trust Law Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association and as that committee’s appointee to the Board of Governors of the Philadelphia Bar Association. He has been a frequent lecturer for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute on trust and estate-related topics, and a mentor and trainer in probate and estate planning areas for the Volunteers for the Indigent Program of the Philadelphia Bar Association. He is a member of the Florida (Sections on Real Property & Probate and Elder Law), Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, and American Bar Associations (Section on Real Property, Probate and Trust Law), and the Philadelphia Estate Planning Council. Neal G. Wiley

Neal G. Wiley graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of California–Santa Barbara in 2009 with a B.A. in Classics, and received his M.A. Classics from UCSB in 2011. Mr. Wiley attended Drexel Law School and graduated magna cum laude in 2015. During law school, he interned for the Hon. C. Darnell Jones, II, of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. After law school, Mr. Wiley served as law clerk to the Hon. Matthew D. Carrafiello, Administrative Judge of the Philadelphia Orphans’ Court, handling matters relating to wills, trusts, estates, guardianships, minors, and fiduciaries generally. He joined Alexander & Pelli as an associate in 2016. Mr. Wiley is a member of the Probate and Trust Law Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association, and chairs the Section's Rules and Practice Committee. He is also a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and the Philadelphia Estate Planning Council. Mr. Wiley joined the adjunct faculty of the Drexel University Thomas R. Katherine F. Thackray

Associate
Katherine F. Thackray focuses her legal practice on estate planning and estate administration. She finds joy in partnering with her clients to help them achieve their estate planning goals, and finds great fulfillment in guiding executors or administrators as they administer their loved ones' estates. Kate is a member of the Probate and Trust Law Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Philadelphia Estate Planning Council. She is a graduate of the Mid-Atlantic Fellows Institute of the American College of Trusts and Estates Counsel, and authors a "Practice Points" column for the Philadelphia Bar Association Probate and Trust Law Section's quarterly newsletter. Kate received her B.A., cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania, her M.S.S. from Bryn Mawr College, and her J.D., magna cum laude, from the Temple University Beasley School of Law.

Elizabeth S. Roberts

Of Counsel
Elizabeth Shevlin Roberts graduated summa cum laude from Villanova University with a B.A. in political science in 1982 and cum laude from Temple University Beasley School of Law with a J.D. in 1986. Elizabeth has focused her entire professional career on the areas of estate and trust planning and administration, guardianship law as it relates to minors and incapacitated persons, and charitable giving. After law school, Ms. Roberts clerked for the Hon. Robert W. Tredinnick of the Orphans’ Court Division of the Court of Common Pleas of Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, which handles wills, trusts, inheritances, fiduciary matters, guardianships, minors’ estates, and non-profit issues. Immediately before joining Alexander & Pelli, LLC, Elizabeth was Senior Vice President & Chief Fiduciary Officer of the Wealth Division of a regional trust company. Elizabeth’s prior experience includes her work in private law practice, including serving as a partner in the Philadelphia office of the Trust & Estate Group of a major national law firm. Elizabeth is an active member of the Philadelphia Bar Association, Probate & Trust Law Section, currently serving as Co-Chair of its Tax Committee and previously serving as Chair of its Rules & Practice Committee, two terms on its Executive Committee, and as the Young Lawyer’s Executive Committee Liaison. She has also served as a mentor for law students and young lawyers through the Section. Elizabeth is also a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and American Bar Association (Real Property, Trust and Estate Law Section for both), as well as the Philadelphia Estate Planning Committee. Elizabeth has been a lecturer on estate-related topics for Pennsylvania Bar Institute programs and written articles on topics related to estate and trusts and Orphans’ Court practice. Eugene H. Gillin

Of Counsel
Eugene H. Gillin serves as Of Counsel to Alexander & Pelli, LLC. He is a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross and Suffolk University Law School. Mr. Gillin previously owned the Philadelphia firm of Harkins and Harkins. He practices primarily in the fields of estate and trust law. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC). He is a past Chair of the Probate and Trust Law Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association and earlier served as Chair of the Section’s Tax Committee. Mr. Gillin served as a member of the Supreme Court Orphans’ Court Procedural Rules Committee and acted as Editor-in-Chief of the 2002 version of the Philadelphia Estate Practitioner Handbook, www.peph.com which is now being updated. He has been a frequent faculty member for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute on courses involving Pennsylvania Inheritance Tax, and has also presented at programs on Fiduciary Accounting and Orphans’ Court Rules. He is a member of the American, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Philadelphia Bar Associations. Mr. Gillin was named Distinguished Estate Planner of the Year in 2006 by the Philadelphia Estate Planning Council. Kenneth J. Levin

Of Counsel
Kenneth J. Levin serves as of counsel to Alexander & Pelli, LLC. He is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Harvard College and a graduate of the Harvard Law School. Mr. Levin has concentrated his practice in the fields of tax and estate planning and estate and trust administration for over 40 years. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and a member of the Villanova University Graduate Tax Program Adjunct Faculty. He has served as special counsel for PNC Bank, N.A., Mellon Bank, Glenmede Trust Company and several other corporate fiduciaries in post-mortem planning and related matters. During the course of his career, Mr. Levin has published articles on specialized estate planning issues for journals including Real Property, Probate and Trust Journal, The Journal of Taxation, Taxation for Lawyers, Taxation for Accountants, Temple Law Quarterly, and The National Law Journal, and for Fiduciary Review.
